Praava and Rippleworks Partner to Implement  Prioritized Architecture Changes to Support Data Strategy

With a population of 170M, Bangladesh still lacks quality, reliable healthcare services. Less than 1% of Bangladeshis have health insurance. The system suffers from poor patient experience and quality of care, and utilizes archaic systems.

Praava provides high quality healthcare services utilizing a “brick and click” model. The “brick” part of their model utilizes a hub and spoke arrangement to deliver traditional care. Praava’s 10-story flagship hospital in Dhaka serves as a hub with the full suite of specialty care services, including 26 in-house labs, imaging services, etc. The “spokes” consist of smaller out-patient clinics located throughout Dhaka with the capacity to deliver primary care and pharmacy services. The “click” part of their model utilizes a patient app to deliver telemedicine services designed to reach lower income and rural populations. 

The Praava team recognizes that centralizing and standardizing their data will allow them to increase their impact and serve more patients. That is why they partnered with Rippleworks expert, Nalini Johnas, to: 

• Design prototypes to evaluate various systems for new data architecture
• Finalize data architecture decisions for migrating on to the cloud
• Learn best practices of data governance 
• Identify Praava’s strengths and improvement areas of its data capability
