Learn to Play partnered with Rippleworks to improve data management to effectively report on organizational performance.

In Botswana, 4 out of 5 children under the age of 5 don’t have access to early learning opportunities and 26% of women are unemployed. Learn to Play trains women in communities to become entrepreneurs and deliver free playgroups for children aged 2-5 on a daily basis. Their play-based curriculum focuses on six key developmental areas designed to be delivered in low-resource contexts. Their training program is a play-based approach to ECD with a unique focus on social and emotional development, mindful play, creativity and imagination and child protection.

One of Learn to Play’s top priorities going into this project was developing data management best practices to easily and accurately track and report on program performance.

Learn to Play partnered with Krishna Ramesh, a leader with experience in social sector consulting, strategic operations, data analytics, and building teams. Together, they:

• Organized Learn to Play’s M&E tools by program.

• Created a clear roadmap and set of changes to implement each tool.

• Identified future need for visualization of data and resourcing for the M&E team.
