Forest Carbon partnered with Rippleworks to define their organizational structure

Forest Carbon restores tropical wetland forests to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company is a premium restoration project developer in Southeast Asia, and delivers benefits for local communities, biodiversity and investors through a proven business model. Their first project, the Sumatra Merang Peatland Project, secured premium carbon offset buyers to restore a globally significant peatland forest and is now a proven business model for large-scale restoration, with more than 1.3 million tonnes CO2e reductions.

One of Forest Carbon’s top priorities going into this project was defining an organizational structure for scaling multiple forest restoration projects.

Forest Carbon partnered with Matt Di Paola, a purpose-driven leader in helping climate, culture and tech scale-ups navigate change through organizational design. Together, they:

• Designed a team structure to scale up to 5 regional projects.

• Defined a decision authority matrix for Forest Carbon HQ and satellite offices.

• Provided recommendations and strategic guidance on implementing new organizational design.
