Cycle Connect partnered with Rippleworks to build user centered design into all their products

Cycle Connect helps smallholder farmers in East Africa increase their incomes by providing productive asset financing and training. They provide farmers living in deeply rural communities in Uganda with loans; productive assets like bicycles, oxen, motorcycles, and grinding machines; and training.

One of Cycle Connect’s top priorities going into the project was improving how they design, develop, and iterate on their product to best meet customer needs. Cycle Connect partnered with Rippleworks to define a user centered product process with a focus on experimentation.

Cycle Connect partnered with Rajesh Nerlikar, a product expert who’s coached and led product organizations including Prodify, Nubank, Capital One, and Morningstar. Together, they:

• Defined the role of innovation in driving Cycle Connect’s growth goals

• Created and improved tools to run experiments, and practiced making business decisions based on learning from customers and experiments

• Learned change management tactics to steadily shift their culture toward innovation
