Bidhaa Sasa uses direct selling techniques—by women, for women—to deliver quality household goods to clients in East Africa’s rural heartlands on monthly payment plans, making modern products both accessible and affordable.
One of Bidhaa Sasa’s top priorities going into the project was reducing the logistical cost of fulfilling orders. Bidhaa Sasa partnered with Rippleworks to build out their in-house logistics capabilities, helping their team better plan, monitor, and adapt to increasingly complex inventory needs.
The project helped our growing logistics team to put in place standard operating procedures and to find the right KPIs to measure progress against.

Bidhaa Sasa partnered with Nathan Royston, a supply chain and logistics expert who brought global experience from Convoy, One Acre Fund, Lush Cosmetics, Theo Chocolate, and Technoserve. Together, they:
• Built tools to improve and support Bidhaa Sasa’s warehouse operations
• Updated guidelines for inventory management (including counting and forecasting)
• Outlined considerations for route planning, trucking, staffing/HR, and reverse logistics
• Developed logistics KPIs; built an implementation plan for continuous improvement
