Unrestricted grant funding providing critical healthcare in an overlooked country

Integrate Health has built and trained three interconnected networks of healthcare practitioners who together make up a patient-centered healthcare network: community health workers (CHWs) who deliver doorstep care; peer coaches who mentor nurses and midwives in public clinics; and pharmacy managers who improve medicine supply chain management.

Data collected in partnership with the Government of Togo’s Ministry of Health at one of Integrate’s operating sites showed a 30 percent reduction in under five mortality after six years—compared with a 14 percent national reduction after the same period.

Despite their strong impact and their deep partnership with the government, funding for Integrate Health is difficult to come by as Togo is often overlooked along with its Francophone peers.
