Jaza Energy partnered with Rippleworks to optimize its supply chain for scale
Jaza Energy provides power at the last mile through their solar Energy Hub distribution model, delivering affordable electricity to off-grid communities across sub-Saharan Africa. A single standard Jaza hub provides affordable and reliable access to electricity for up to a hundred households, and currently serve more than 4,000 households in 76 communities throughout Tanzania.
Jaza’s top priority was increasing scale, lowering costs, and generating more reliable and visible timelines by improving its supply chain. Jaza partnered with Rippleworks to optimize their supply chain to support scaling their reach to 40,000 customers across 180 Hubs in 2021.

• Assessed Jaza’s current supply chain; benchmarked their supplier contract vs solar industry standards
• Learned framework and best practices to effectively manage Jaza’s supply chain
• Defined improvements for working with suppliers and created a Master Sales Agreement to use with 2021 suppliers
• Set Jaza’s supplier requirements and maximum price points for products
• Improved outreach and storytelling capabilities to facilitate partnerships with new suppliers
