East Africa Fruits partnered with Rippleworks to design a talent management plan for future growth.
East Africa Fruits (EAF) connects smallholder farmers with buyers by establishing a reliable demand and supply management system. EAF aggregates, processes, and distributes fresh produce from farmers to customers with the use of cold chain logistics to increase produce shelf life. In this process, EAF has helped triple the annual income of over 1,000 farmers, from an average of $600 to over $1,800.
One of EAF’s top priorities going into this project was onboarding and retaining new staff members so they can achieve their growth targets and scale up their impact.

• Articulated East Africa Fruits’ employee value proposition.
• Implemented employee culture and values survey and developed an onboarding guide for new hires.
• Built out components of its recruiting, onboarding, referral and retention processes.
